06:15am | Sat, August 18, 2012

The St Elizabeth police on Friday arrested three men and seized a firearm and motor vehicle
Two of the men are said to be from Kingston, while the other said to be from St Catherine.        The Police say they acted on a tip and carried out a spot check in the parish, when they stopped a motor car with the three men aboard
They searched the car and found the firearm, and then arrested the men.
The Police say their names are being withheld because they are suspects in a series of robberies committed in the southern section of the parish. Head of operations in St Elizabeth Deputy Superintendent Lansford Salmon, said the men are to undergo intensive questioning and face several Identification parades.
He added that contact will be made with the police in St Catherine and Kingston to see if the men now in custody are also wanted in those jurisdictions.

They men have not yet been charged as the investigation  is  ongoing.
