Somerset weighs in on Chris Gayle/WICB saga

07:21pm | Tue, May 01, 2012

English county Somerset has weighed in on the latest development involving Chris Gayle and the West Indies cricket board, stating that they want to make a decision on the availability of the sidelined West Indies opener.  According to Vic marks, cricket chairman of Somerset, if Gayle ended up playing for the West Indies in the limited overs leg of their England tour, they would accept and understand the decision.
However, marks says they want to know exactly what's happening with  Gayle so they could " either see a replacement  or make sure his shirt fits properly."  According to reports Gayle could to miss the West Indies 20/20 and one-day section of their England tour after indicating earlier that he would be available. This is as a result of the WICB failing to reassure Gayle that he would be selected should he give up his20/20 contract with Somerset.
