Shvedova upset French Open defending Champ

Unseeded Yaroslava Shvedova upset   li Na 3-6, 6-2, 6-0   on Monday to knock the  defending champion out of the French open .
Shvedova will now meet 4th  seed Petra Kvitova who reached the  quarter-finals with a 6-2 6-1 win over  Varvara Lepchenko .
Maria Sharapova moved closer to her first French open title by reaching the quarter-finals with  a hard fought  6-4, 6-7  6-2 victory  over unseeded klara Zakopalova .
In men’s action  2nd  seed Rafael Nadal won 17 games in succession as he coasted into the  quarter-finals  with a 6-2, 6-0, 6-0  over Juan Monaco.
The defending champion, bidding to become the first man to capture seven Roland Garros singles titles, will tackle fellow Spaniard Nicolas Almagro for a place in the semi-finals.
Andy Murray overcame a slow start to defeat
Richard Gasquet 1-6, 6-4, 6-1, 6-2 and advance to the French open quarterfinals.
Juan Martin Del Potro set up a French Open quarterfinal against Roger Federer by finishing off a 7-6  1-6, 6-3, 7-5 victory over Tomas Berdych on Monday in a match stopped the night before because of darkness after three sets.
 Other winners Jo-Wilfried tsonga , 12th-seeded Nicolas Almagro, and  6th seeded David Ferrer.
