Schoolboy football off to an exciting start
Dacosta cup holders Ruseas High started their title defence in winning fashion on Saturday, however St Georges College had to ride their luck for a one-all draw against Hydel at Catherine Hall, in Montego Bay St. James.
In what was an efficient display against last season’s triple crown champions, the underdogs (Hydel) took the lead after 22 minutes and should have doubled their advantage had it not been for an officiating error.
St Georges rallied to secure a point in stoppage time.
In other games, Holy Trinity High defeated St. Catherine High 4-nil led by goals from Nicholas Hamilton in the 2nd and 37th minutes, while Trench Town and Spanish Town ended 3-all.
In the Dacosta Cup opener, defending champions Ruseas High got by Herbert Morrison 2-nil with both goals coming in the second half.
