At least one of the trade unions representing workers at Lascelles de Mercado subsidiaries could hear today how the takeover of the company by Italian firm Grupo Campari will affect jobs.
The National Workers Union, NWU, which has bargaining rights for employees at J. Wray and Nephew's New Yarmouth Estate has requested a meeting for this afternoon.
Workers protested at the entrance of the estate yesterday demanding answers about their future with the company in light of the impending change in ownership at Lascelles.
News came on Monday that Campari has reached an agreement to acquire 81.4 per cent of Lascelles de Mercado.
