NSWMA tells Joan Gordon Webley ‘Bring the evidence!’

‘Bring the evidence!’   That's the response from the management of  the National Solid Waste Management Authority, NSWMA, to a claim by former Executive Director Joan Gordon-Webley that there is more impropriety at the agency.
In a statement, the NSWMA urged Mrs Gordon-Webley to provide it as well as the police with full information about the alleged impropriety so that the matter can be investigated and action taken against those involved.
The solid waste collection agency says Mrs. Gordon-Webley's remarks reinforce the need to urgently work to introduce trust, accountability and transparency to the organization.
At the same time it gave the assurance that its systems and procedures are being reviewed and adjusted as the management seeks to create and maintain a culture of  integrity at the Authority.
On Monday RJR News reported that the police were investigating more irregularities at the NSWMA.
This followed the theft of  cheques from the agency and attempts by persons to encash them.
In another statement yesterday, the NSWMA advised the public to seek verification for all cheques presented from the agency.
The police are still probing a 161 million dollar fraud case at the entity in which a former manager is implicated.
