Melaine Walker, Foster-Hylton ready for trials
Olympic champion Melaine Walker and 2009 world champion Brigitte Foster-Hylton say they are ready to reclaim their national titles on the eve of the 4-day JAAA's supreme ventures national senior athletics championships at the national stadium.
Olympic champion Melaine Walker will face off against MVP teammate Kaliese Spencer as well as Nickiesha Wilson and Ristannna Tracey of the racers track club in the women's 400m hurdles.
Walker, did not compete in the event at last year trials as she was the defending world champion.
She had some technical issues in her last race leading up to the trials says those are all behind her.
2009 world champion Foster-Hylton is back in form after a frustrating 2011 season.
She has the 3rd fastest time in the world this year time of 12.51
This year's national trials could be her last and she is looking to close out in style.
The meet begins at 9:30 on Thursday morning with the heats of the women's 400m hurdles. The heats and quarterfinals of the men's 100 meters will also be contested on Thursday’s opening day.
