Major shakeup in leadership ranks of JCF
The latest publication of the Jamaica Constabulary Force Orders has confirmed a recent RJR report of a major shake up in the leadership ranks of the Police force.
The force orders on the weekend listed transfers of a number of senior officers across several police divisions.
Just over a week ago, Commissioner Owen Ellington met with members of the Police
Officer's Association, to discuss the pending transfer of several senior policemen and
Police women.
As of Monday, April 2, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Gervis Taylor, will be transferred from Area Four headquarters.
ACP Taylor will replace outgoing CIB Head, ACP Ealan Powell.
Effective April 16, ACP Elan Powell will be in charge of Area Two headquarters.
Assistant Commissioner of Police, George Quallo, will replace ACP Taylor.
One senior superintendent, 4 superintendents, 5 deputy superintendents, and 1 assistant superintendent were also reassigned.
Commanding Officer for the St. James Police Division, Senior Superintendent Linette Williams Martin, will now be heading up Area Two headquarters in St. Mary.
She is being replaced by Divisional Commander for Westmoreland, Superintendent Egbert Parkins .
Superintendent Dermoth Lawrence from the Hanover Division will be his replacement.
Also transferred effective April 16 are: Deputy Superintendent Ralsford Hardie, who moves from Mobile Reserve to the St James Division.
In all, 13 senior officers are to be transferred between April 2 and 16.
RJR News understands that many of the changes stem from the pending retirement of a number of assistant commissioners and senior superintendents.
