Jamaica Producers Group exports juices to new European markets
The Jamaica Producers Group says it has introduced its juices to new markets in Europe, but does not expect to profit from that venture until next year. The company says it introduced the products in new markets including Germany and Scandinavia, with the aim of achieving long term profitability. Overall the company says the adverse economic conditions in Europe and the weak euro has resulted in flat sales of its products in that part of the world while driving up raw material costs for its juices. Jamaica Producers says the difficulties it faced in the European market were compounded by the fact that it continued to experience start up losses associated with the introduction of its new fresh juice procession line.
