Jamaica created history Saturday when the Caribbean country and Qatar becamethe newest members of the International Ice Hockey Federation after both  countries were added as the 71st and 72nd member nations.
Jamaica joins as an associate member while the IHF says Qatar will become a fullmember after an audit.
Jamaica formed its federation last year with one rink, and is the first Caribbeanmember of the world body.
The decisions were made at the governing body's annual congress in Helsinki,Finland, during the World Championships.
