Investigators with the Sexual Offences and Child Abuse, (CISOCA),  are  still questioning a popular medical practitioner who was arrested Friday, in a suspected case of procurement of abortion.
The police told RJR News that based on the information they have so far, the Kingston-based doctor may have done the procedure on a teenaged girl, who later experienced complications.
A police source told RJR News that the girl went through the procedure, but began  experiencing complications afterwards.
She was taken to a hospital, where she was treated. The police subsequently started probing the matter.

Their investigations led them to the medical practitioner, who was taken into custody.
The police said based on the seriousness of the allegations, it was unlikely that the doctor will  receive bail before next week.

They added that the doctor is to face the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court for  sentencing in another matter.
