Bus drivers with outstanding traffic warrants remanded

As the St. Catherine police turn up the heat on drivers with outstanding traffic tickets, two Corporate Area bus drivers who had a total of 444 outstanding traffic warrants were on Friday remanded when they appeared before the Spanish Town Resident Magistrate's Court.They are 39 year old Clovis Reid of 1 Australia Road and  20 year old Devon Freeman of Martella Drive in Kingston 11. In the case against Reid, he was cited for 172 traffic warrants,He pleaded guilty to 48 and was fined 207 thousand dollars or 530 days imprisonment.He is scheduled to return to court on June 13 to answer to the remaining 124 traffic warrants.Meanwhile in the case of Freeman, he was hauled before the court for 272 traffic warrants of which he was tried on 78 of them.He pleaded guilty to 30 and not guilty to 48 and was fined $100,000. dollars or 340 days imprisonment.He will return to court on June 25, to answer to the remaining 242.RJR News understands that three more bus drivers have since been taken into custody for amassing a total of 465 traffic warrants.
