"Bunny" Francis murder accused to again seek bail
The main suspect in the killing of 66-year-old conch exporter, Roderick "Bunny" Francis is to hear on Wednesday, August 17, if he will be granted bail.
The legal team for Carlos Batista, 42, of Allerdyce Drive in Kingston 8 and the Dominican Republic is to make a bail application when he appears in court.
Mr. Batista and his two co-accused Sheldon Watson, 36, and computer technician, George Gardner, 27, both of Mountain View Avenue in St. Andrew, were remanded when they appeared in court last month.
They are charged with murder and illegal possession of a firearm.
Mr. Francis, a well-known figure in the fishing industry, was shot dead on June 25, while leaving his home on Queensway, off Hope Road, in St. Andrew.
Investigators believe he was the target of a contract killing.
