Black River police search for suspect in attempted rape case
The Black River Police in St Elizabeth are now searching for a taxi driver said to be a suspect in a case of attempted rape and grevious sexual assault. The taxi driver, who goes by the alias "Nicky" is from Middle Quarters in the parish and operates on the Santa Cruz to Black River route. The police want to question him about an incident that happened last month. They claim about 8 one evening, a female passenger boarded his taxi for Black River. While on his way he reportedly diverted unto a section of the YS main Road where he attempted to sexually assault the passenger. The female escaped and was taken to the Black River Police Station where a report was made. The Police say after the incident the suspect stopped operating on the route and has gone into hiding. The Black River Police are asking him to make himself available for questioning in the matter by Wednesday of this week.
