April 30, new deadline for employers to make tax returns
Additional time has been given to employer's to submit their annual tax return for 2011.
Tax Administration Jamaica (TAJ) has announced that, in agreement with the National Insurance Scheme and the National Housing Trust employers have until April 30 to submit the returns.
The one month extension is to facilitate employers who were unable to meet the March 31 deadline to submit the new form due to challenges.
In support of the extension, the agencies will be increasing their outreach activities to assist employers with completing the new form.
To date approximately 11,000 returns have been submitted.
The new Employers Annual Return was introduced in January this year.
