An American Airlines flight had to divert to Montego Bay yesterday afternoon after attempting to land several times at the Owen Roberts International Airport in the Cayman Islands.
This was due to heavy rains which have been lashing the island.
Sources say visibility was too low and the pilots were unable to land the aircraft so they decided to divert.
Not all flights to Cayman were cancelled.
Several inches of rain have been recorded in Grand Cayman in recent days resulting in flooding in some communities.
